There are variations on this method of procuring the construction of a building. The builder will have subcontractors that provide labor and materials in each trade from excavation, concreting, bricklaying, carpentry, plumbing, electrical and many more trades. Generally, a contractor is a self employed person or company who provides a service for a limited period of time and may be paid on a time basis or fixed price.
